HomeMy WebLinkAboutminutes.gab.101023 GOLF ADVISORY COMMITTEE OCTOBER 10, 2023 MINUTES The meeting was convened at ten a.m. those attending were: Jeff, Linda, Annie, Helene, Brandon, Schanzy, Charlie, Jim, Dom, and Andrew. 1 & 2. The Agenda and Minutes were approved. 3. Public Comment. People should spend credit from the Pro Shop as it cannot be applied to pass purchase. 4. Junior Golf. After a very successful season the program will expand next year. They will have a website beginning in January. THANK YOU, CHARLIE! 5. Superintendent Report. Blowout starts next week. Today is the last mowing. Applications next week. Staff is migrating out. Thanks to the committee for support. 6. Head Professional Report. Great end of season. $120,000 over budget. Ordering has begun cornet year. Turnover day is November 2nd. Carts will be picked up next week. Discussed advantage of full-time staff for continuity and manpower. 7. Women’s Association Report. There are 105 paid members. 25-40 players per week in the 18-hole group and 12-18 in the 9-hole group. A 9-hole morning group is possible in the future. 8. Men’s Association Report. The men also had a good season. Their Ryder Cup team came in 2nd. They have money in the bank to start 2024. They also have scholarship money set aside. 9. General Manager Report.  Revenues exceeded budget and expenses were lower. $125000 budgeted to bring fleet equipment up to date.  $45000 is planned for a business plan assess the enterprise fund we operate under as opposed to being part of the general fund. It will also consider driving range fence improvements, cart part improvements ditch maintenance, fleet upgrades due to heavy use and tee improvements to holes 4 & 17.  The restaurant lease goes before Council tonight after negotiations with Jamie and Rich.  The instruction lease will be addressed next. There are 4-5 options including Dede.  The pass committee has met. o There will be 925 passes sold next season. o 1100 this year was too many for number of tee times. o There will be a nine-hole punch pass but only after three. 10.
