Lindt ___-.I r-, n WV\. .~ t1 MEMORANDUM To: James Lindt From: Ben Ludlow, Project Manager Date: July 22, 2002 Re: Truscott Signage Master Plan After further reviewing the Truscott Signage Master Plan, it was discovered that the proposed location for the entry sign is in the exact location of the new alignment for Highway 82 once the new Maroon Creek Bridge is built in the near future. Therefore, the City of Aspen will now place a temporary sign that meets all of our needs, is low on cost, and meets all aspects of the sign code. As a result, I withdraw my application for the Truscott Signage Master Plan for review by Planning and Zoning. I...' ""'0'" 2"~ -' r\ () MEMORANDUM To: Julie Ann Woods From: Ben Ludlow, Project Manager Date: July 22, 2002 Re: Truscott Signage Master Plan As part of the original approvals for the Truscott Redevelopment, no thought was given to directional signage throughout the property. Therefore I am proposing the creation of the Truscott Signage Master Plan that is consistent with all ofthe original approvals. The Truscott Signage Master Plan will include 5 typical signs throughout the property that will help convey pedestrians, tenants, and golf/nordic/tennis users. There also will be a large entry sign near the highway entrance that will indicate all of the facilities on the property. The goal is to ensure that all of the people are parked in the correct areas of the Parking Lot and that access to the facilities is easily understood. Here are further details for reference. The Entry sign will consist of the following materials (Please see the attached drawing): 1. Sign base will be 40 ft. long, 2 ft. high, and 2 ft. 3 in. wide. The base will be a light stone veneer with a sandstone cap 2 in. thick. The sign base will be shaped in an arc for dual direction notification. 2. The sign face will be made of two materials and will be doubled with exact signs facing opposite directions on each end of the arc. The first will.be a y" in. thick weathering steel plate 11.5 ft. by 2.5 ft. used as a backing. The backing will hold the words "ASPEN GOLF CLUB" in 6 in. black detachable lettering. Also, the backing will include the address "39551 Highway 82" in 2 in. black detachable lettering. The front will be a y" in. thick dull galvanized finish steel plate with 3 rows of words including "Tennis and Nordic Center", "Truscott Place", "Pyramid Peak Roadhouse", all in 2 in. black detachable lettering. '. 3. The illumination will consist of 4 12 volt cast brass ground mounted fixtures (See attached drawing) that will broadcast oval light on both sign faces. The fixtures are 2 feet tall with 35W MR16 narrow flood halogen lamps with linear spread lenses. 4. Located behind the sign will be landscaping consisting of native grasses, Aspens, multi-stem Aspens, and Rock Spiria. In front of the sign will native grasses. Typical signs will consist of the following (Please see attached the drawing): 1. All lettering will be green on a white backing. Lettering heights will vary from 1.5 in. t02 in. 2. The sign backing will be made of steel and painted white. 3. The sign trim will be made of 1 in. light pine trim. Please see attached color photo of current trails directional signs for reference of sign design. '< "- r-, () Typical sign information will consist of the following: 1. Type I signs will have directional arrows, icons, and varying information consisting of Golf Parking, Tennis Parking, Nordic Parking, Truscott Place Parking, Restaurant Parking, Golf Cart Return, Toilet Location, 10Tee. 2.
