(Series of 1987)
AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE ESTABLISHMENT OF ONE (1) PRE-
CINCTS FOR THE MUNICIPAL ELECTION TO BE HELD ON DECEMBER 8, 1987,
AND SETTING FORTH THE DESCRIPTION OF THE PRECINCT
WHEREAS, the City Council ("Council") of the City of Aspen,
Colorado (the "City"), in the County of Pitkin and State of
Colorado, a municipal corporation duly organized and existing as
a home rule city pursuant to Article XX of the Colorado Constitu-
tion, will conduct a municipal election, pursuant to Section 2.2
of the Aspen Home Rule Charter, on Tuesday, December 8, 1987; and
WHEREAS, Council has determined, and hereby does determine
that the use of one (1) election precinct for said general
municipal election will maximize the convenience of the voters;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ASPEN, COLORADO:
Section 1
Pursuant to Section 2.3 of the Aspen Home Rule Charter, the
Council has heretofore adopted Ordinance No. 5-71, establishing
multiple voting precincts. The Council has determined, and
hereby does determine, that, solely for purposes of the municipal
election to be held December 8, 1987, the City shall constitute
one (1) voting precinct located in the City council Chambers,
City Hall, 130 South Galena Street, Aspen, Colorado.
This ordinance shall supercede said Ordinance No. 5-71, but only
as to the December 8, 1987, municipal election.
section 2
If any section, subsection, sentence, clause, phrase or
portion of this ordinance is for any reason held invalid or
unconstitutional in a court of competent jurisdiction, such
portion shall be deemed a separate, distinct and independent
provision and shall not affect the validity of the remaining
portions thereof.
section 3
Nothing in this ordinance shall be construed to affect any
right, duty or liability under any ordinances in effect prior to
the effective date of this ordinance, and the same shall be
continued and concluded under such prior ordinance.
section 4
A pUblic hearing on the ordinance shall be held on the (JV~

Chambers, Aspen City Hall, Aspen, Colorado.
