AN ORDINANCE APPROVING AN AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF ASPEN,
COLORADO, AND THE UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF ENERGY, WESTERN
AREA POWER ADMINISTRATION, SETTING FORTH THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS
FOR THE PURCHASE OF ELECTRIC SERVICE BY THE CITY FROM THE SALT
LAKE CITY AREA INTEGRATED PROJECTS, AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO
EXECUTE SAID AGREEMENT AND ALL OTHER DOCUMENTS NECESSARY TO
ACCOMPLISH SAID TRANSACTION ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF ASPEN
WHEREAS, there has been submitted to the City Council an
Agreement providing for the purchase by the City of electric
service from the Western Area Power Administration of the United
States Department of Energy, which electric power is generated
and transmitted from the Salt Lake City Area Integrated Projects,
a copy of which agreement is annexed hereto and made a part
hereof.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ASPEN, COLORADO:
Section 1
That the City Council of the City of Aspen does approve that
Agreement providing for the purchase of electric service trans-
mitted and generated from the Salt Lake City Area Integrated
Projects by the City from the Western Area Power Administration
of the United States Department of Energy, a copy of which is
annexed hereto and incorporated herein, and does hereby authorize
the Mayor to execute said agreement and all other documents
approved by the City Attorney as may be necessary to accomplish
said transaction on behalf of the City of Aspen.
Section 2
Nothing in this ordinance shall be construed to affect any
right, duty or liability under any ordinances in effect prior to
the effective date of this ordinance, and the same shall be
continued and concluded under such prior ordinances.
Section 3
A public hearing on the ordinance shall be held on the ~3
