HomeMy WebLinkAboutcclc.min.04162003 COMMERCIAL CORE & LODGING COMMISSION MINUTES OF April 16~ 2003 Chairperson, Bill Dinsmoor called the meeting to order at 8:30 a.m. Commissioners in attendance: Charles Kennedy, Andrew Kole and Jon Busch. Excused was John Start. Terry was absent. Mark Breslin ex officio was presenT. LILAC BUSH Jeff Woods, Parks Director and Tom Rubel, Parks Supervisor said they would trim the lilac tree and work with Robert Tallaferro, City maintenance to construct the platform. Staff recommended that Trex wood would be used which is a composite material that is maintenance tree. The wood dimension will be worked out with Robert. Jeff also said he would cover the $784. that is short on the budget for the market. Cabos mall lease. Kathy presented Cabos Restaurant request for a mall lease. This establishment was previously the Grottos. They are requesting the same dimensions as last year with an additional 120 square feet. They are also requesting to come out an additional two feet, from ten to 12 feet trom the property line. Jeff Woods and Tom Rubel supported the request for the mall lease. MOTION: Andrew moved to approve the expansion of the mall lease for Cabos; second by Charles. Motion carried 3-1. Yes vote: Bill, Charles, Andre,¢. Jon opposed. Mecca mall lease. Kathy presented Mecca. The request is to have the same space as last year if their lease is approved. MOTION: Charles moved to approve Mecca mall lease; second by Andrew. All in favor, motion carried. Tom Rubel pointed out that Mecca had trash piled up last winter and this should be pointed out to the owners. COMMERCIAL CORE & LODGING COMMISSION MINUTES OF APril 16,2003 Public - Mark Richards, outerwear - Mark Goodman. The only way to be successful is to do events. He would like to do sidewalk sales with a tent etc. He was thinking of an charity event. Bill said Mark needs to go to the special event committee. The city has something in place for Mark's needs. Mark said he wants to do something during the 4th of July. Bill said there is so much happening during the fourth of July you need to be careful when you want the event. Charles suggested Mark use the food and wine dates. Charles asked Mark what drove him to Aspen. Mark said he wanted to go to a ski resort and the people are of a more sophisticated crowd. The board suggested Mark get with the ACRA regarding the antique show and art show. MOTION: Charles moved to adjourn; second by Andrew. All in favor, motion carried.
