HomeMy WebLinkAboutminutes.council.19920421Special Meeting Aspen City Council April 21, 1992 Mayor Bennett called the meeting to order at 4:35 p.m. with Council members Reno, Pendleton, Peters and Richards present. Councilman Peters moved to go into executive session for the purposes of discussing litigation; seconded by Councilwoman Pendleton. All in favor, motion carried. Councilman Reno moved to come out of executive session at 5:00 p.m.; seconded by Councilwoman Pendleton. All in favor, motion carried. Councilman Peters moved to approve the stipulation for settlement of the Black Swan lawsuits; seconded by Councilwoman Richards. All in favor, motion carried. Councilwoman Richards moved to authorize staff to make money available for real property taxes and interest payments for the Billings note from the housing day care fund; seconded by Councilwoman Pendleton. Councilman Reno said he has been concerned that the city is not in the driver's seat in this deal and was pushed into something where the city knew this could happen. Councilman Peters pointed out the Japanese have paid the carrying costs since the property was purchased. Mayor Bennett agreed the city is still in good shape. Mayor Bennett said the Council had said if the Japanese cannot come up with a payment in May, the property can be sold. Council may reconsider some other financing mechanisms. All in favor, motion carried. Councilman Peters moved to adjourn at 5:05 p.m.; seconded by Councilwoman Richards. All in favor, motion carried. Kathryn S. Koch, City Clerk
