HomeMy WebLinkAboutcclc.minutes.03032004COMMERCIAL CORE & LODGING COMMISSION MINUTES OF MARCH 3, 2004 Chairperson, Bill Dinsmoor called the meeting to,order at 8:30 a.m. Commissioners in attendance: Charles Kennedy, Andrew Kole, John Starr, Mark Goodman, Marc Breslin and Terry Butler. Eric Cohen was excused. SATURDAY MARKET The board suggested that Maggie Dorrough (market manager) ask for raffle tickets from the restaurants to hand out at the cooking demonstrations. Thev also asked Maggie to follow up on a stove to be used in Conner Park. Maggie said Chanel 16 wants to filTM at the Saturday Market. Maggie said she would like a mirror for behind the cooking tent to reflect what the chef is preparing. The cost should be around $250. Bill asked Maggie to look into the firm costs for the mirror and whatever we might need to enhance the cooking demonstrations. Jack Johnson, potential vendor in the Saturday Market explained to the CCLC that numerous stores were interested in his service. The intent of his service would be to advertise stores throughout Aspen. Jack said his question would be, what should the entrance or booth look like? Terry brought up the idea of her hotel having a booth and Jack work with her in designing the booth to advertise her hotel. Mark Breslin said this is exactly what the market needs. Charles said he would work with Jack to come up with some ideas for the market. Catalyst j ob. John said Steve Barwick wants to know who the two representatives from CCLC will be on the advisory committee. John said he feels Bill should be on the Executive Board. Andrew relayed that he would like to be on the Executive Board, John suggested to Hanna that Stan Clauson be on the Executive committee. Hanna said in her opinion Stan sees the bigger picture and her would also be her recommendation. John also said he feels that Andy Model should be on the advisory board. Andrew said his whole objective is to see that the Catalyst position succeeds. Andrew was voted to represent the CCLC on the Executive Board. John said the biggest part of the catalYst job is creating a business plan and why and what We want from the BID. Hanna asked the CCLC to come up With special event ideas for the summer and the CCLC and ACRA Could submit the events jointly t° the Special Event Committee.
