AN ORDINANCE APPROVING THE TERMS OF AN AGREEMENT WITH SAAB-
SCANIA OF AMERICA, INC. REGARDING THE POSSESSION AND USE
OF ELEVEN (il) SAAB AUTOMOBILES FOR POLICE AND ADMINISTRATIVE
PURPOSES, AND AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE
THE SAME ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF ASPEN
WHEREAS, the City of Aspen is desirous of entering into the
annexed agreement with Saab-Scania of ~'aerica, Inc. regarding the
possession and use of eleven (li) Saab automobiles for police and
administrative purposes by the City of Aspen; and
WHEREAS, Section 10.8 of the City Charter of the City of
Aspen provides that the City is authorized to enter into long-term
installment purchase contracts and rental or leasehold agreements
in order to provide necessary equipment and other property for
governmenta± or proprietary purposes and that each such agreement
and the terms thereof shall be approved by an ordinance duly
enacted.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ASPEN, COLORADO:
Section i
The terms of the annexed agreement between the City o~ Aspen
and Saab-Scania of ~unerica, Inc. regarding the possession and use
of eleven (1i) Saab automobiles for police and administrative
purposes by the City of Aspen are hereby approved, and the Mayor
is hereby authorized and directed to execute the same on behalf of
the City of Aspen.
Section 2
If any section, subsection, sentence, clause, phrase or
portion of this ordinance is for any reason held invalid or
unconstitutional by any court of competent ]urisdiction, such
portion shall be deemed a separate, distinct and independent

provision and such holding shai± not affect the validity o~ the
remaining portions thereof.
Section 3
A public hearing on the ordinance shall be held on the /~~'~
