Excused were Terry Butler, Eric Cohen, Marc Breslin and Andrew Kole. Lisa Baker, downtown catalyst relayed that Andrew would like $500. for Aspen GOes Bazaar from the CCLC to help promote.it. Bill relayed that CCLC had no budget. Brownyn, owner of Funky Mountain Threads, suggested that the market be on the mall. She liked the idea of the market vendors moving onto the malls. The market has created an entertainment package which is great. We are loosing the mom and pop stores. The market impacts her business and people don't come down town to shop after they go to the market. We need to find a way to include the core. Moving the market to the malls would create people to come into the stores on the mall. Brownyn said the booths block the retail stores. The mall is more of a friendly open environment. Bill and John presented the idea of turning the booths around. Charles and Maggie came up with the idea of moving the market ½ block south and off Hopkins. This will be presented at the next meeting. Bill said having the fire corridor on the mall would hinder the market vendors. Bill said the market is less impacted where it is. John said we need more cross promotion with the market vendors. The CCLC discussed the rough draft of the 2005 market budget. Bill mentioned that we need shade cloth to attach to the light polls and possibly that could be added to the budget for next year. Bill said at the meeting with the farmers it was decided that the October times for the market would be 9:00-3:00. All flowers in the market must be all grown on site. No brokering. Meeting adjourned at 11:00 a.m. Kathleen j. Strickland, Chief Deputy Clerk
