HomeMy WebLinkAboutordinance.council.089-76RECORD OF PROCEEDINGS 100 Leaves ORDINANCE NO. ~ (Series of 1976) AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE UNIFORM BUILDING CODE BY THE ADDITION OF A REQUIREMENT THAT NO MULTI-FAMILY STRUCTURES SHALL BE CONSTRUCTED WITHOUT THE INSTALLATION OF MAIL BOXES SUFFICIENT TO SERVICE ALL ANTICIPATED RESIDENTS WITH HOME DELIVERY WHEREAS, the City Council has determined, in order to foster mail delivery within the City, to require all new multi- family residential structures to provide boxes for the benefit of the residents, NOW, THEREFORE, OF THE CITY OF ASPEN: Section 1 That Section of Aspen, Colorado, is section BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL 7-141 of the Municipal Code of the City hereby amended by the addition of sub- (s) which said subsection reads as follows: "(s) Mandatory Mailboxes. Within all zone districts within the City of Aspen no multi-family structure shall be constructed without the installation there- in of individual mail boxes sufficient to service all anticipated residents of the structure and meeting any applicable requirements of the U.S. Postal System for home delivery." Section 2 if any provision of this ordinance or the application thereof to any person or circumstance is held invalid, such invalidity shall not affect other provisions or applications of the ordinance which can be given effect without the invalid pro- vision or application, and to this end the provisions of this ordinance are declared to be severable. Section 3 A public hearing on the ordinance shall be held on RECORD OF PROCEEDINGS 100 Leaves ~ /~ , 197~, at 5:00 P.M. in the City Council Chambers, Aspen City Hall, Aspen, Colorado.
