AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 2-78(7) OF THE ASPEN MUNICIPAL CODE
ELIMINATING AS A RECOGNIZED HOLIDAY THE ELEVENTH DAY OF NOVEMBER
(VETERAN'S DAY), AND SUBSTITUTING THEREFORE THE FIRST MONDAY IN
AUGUST (COLORADO DAY)
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that a more
appropriate holiday for City employees is Colorado Day, and wishes
to amend existing code provisions to so provide.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ASPEN, COLORADO:
Section 1
That Subsection 2-78(7) of the Municipal Code of the City
of Aspen, Colorado, is hereby repealed and reenacted to read as
follows:
"(7) The first Monday of August (Colorado Day)."
Section 2
If any provision of this ordinance or the application thereof
to any person or circumstance is held invalid, such invalidity shall
not affect other provisions or applications of the ordinance which
can be given effect without the invalid provisions or applications,
and to this end the provisions or applications of this ordinance are
declared to be severable.
Section 3
A public hearing on this ordinance shall be held on the
/O day of ~, 1975, at 5:00 p.m. in the City Council
Chambers, Aspen City Hall, Aspen, Colorado.
