AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 2-80 OF THE ASPEN MUNICIPAL CODE
SO AS TO PERMIT EMPLOYEES OF THE CITY OF ASPEN TO TAKE VACATION
LEAVE AFTER SIX (6) MONTHS EMPLOYMENT
WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to relax the City
employee vacation provisions such as to permit the taking of
vacation leave after six (6) months employment rather than one
(1) year as presently provided,
~OW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF ASPEN, COLORADO:
Section 1
That Section 2-80 of the Municipal Code of the City of
Aspen, Colorado, is hereby amended to read as follows:
"Section 2-80 Regular vacation leave
Every police officer and permanent or probationary
employee in the City service, except temporary and
seasonal employees, shall be allowed paid vacation leave
at the rate of ten (10) working days or two (2) workweeks
each year. Vacation leave cannot be granted unless the
employee shall have completed six (6) months of employ-
ment."
Section 2
If any provision of this ordinance or the application there-
of to any person or circumstance is held invalid, such invalidity
shall not affect other provisions or applications of the ordinance
which can be given effect without the invalid provisions or applic-
ations, and to this end the provisions or applications of this
ordinance are declared to be severable.
Section 3
A public hearing on this ordinance shall be held on the
