HomeMy WebLinkAboutordinance.council.083-75RECORD OF PROCEEDINGS 100 Leaves ORDINANCE NO. ~ ~eries of 1975) AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 24-9.2 OF THE ASPEN MUNICIPAL CODE SO AS TO EXPAND THE MEMBERSHIP OF THE HISTORIC PRESERV- ATION COMMITTEE BY PROVIDING FOR THE APPOINTMENT OF THREE (3) ALTERNATE MEMBERS; PROVIDING THAT THE ALTERNATES ACT ONLY IN THE ABSENCE OF A REGULAR MEMBER WHO SHALL APPOINT THE ALTERNATE WHO WILL ACT IN HIS BEHALF; AND FURTHER PRO- VIDING THAT IF NO ALTERNATE HAS BEEN SO DESIGNATED, THE CHAIRMAN SHALL APPOINT WHEREAS, the Historic Preservation Committee has re- quested consideration of expansion of its membership to permit participation by alternates in the event of the absence of a regular member, and WHEREAS, after public hearing the Planning and Zoning Commission has endorsed the proposal and recommended the following amendment, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ASPEN, COLORADO: Section 1 That Section 24-9.2 of the Municipal Code of the City of Aspen, Colorado, is hereby amended to read as follows: "24-9.2 Creation of Historic Preservation Committee There shall be established an Historic Preservation Committee with seven (7) regular and three (3) alternate members all appointed by the City Council. Alternates shall act only in the event of the absence of a regular member and any regular member who will be absent may appoint the alternate whom he wishes to act in his stead. If no alternate has been so designated or, if designated, is not present, the chairman shall appoint any alternate present to act in the absence of a regular member. The powers and duties of the Committee are hereinafter pre- scribed and include, in part: To make recommendations to the Planning Commission and the City Council on the designation of H, Historic Overlay Districts and to provide support material necessary to justify such designation; STATE OF COLORADO=' ) ) ss COUNTY OF PITKIN ) CERTIFICATE I, Kathryn S.
