AN ORDINANCE ABOLISHING THE DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND RECREATION
WITHIN THE CITY OF ASPEN ADMINISTRATION AND ESTABLISHING IN LIEU
THEREOF TWO SEPARATE DEPARTMENTS TO BE CALLED THE DEPARTMENT OF
RECREATION AND THE DEPARTMENT OF PARKS
WHEREAS, on reco..mmendation of the City Manager the City
Council has determined that the present department of parks and
recreation should be bifurcated, and two separate departments
created in lieu thereof,
[IOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ASPEN, COLORADO:
Section 1
That the existing department of parks and recreation be
and hereby is abolished and that there be established in lieu
thereof two separate departments, the Department of Recreation and
Department of Parks, with such departments assuming public
recreation and park acquisition and maintenance functions respectively.
Section 2
If any provision of this ordinance or the application
thereof to any person or circumstance is held invalid, such invalid-
ity shall not affect other provisions or applications of the ordinance
which can be given effect without the invalid provisions or applica-
tions, and to this end the provisions or applications of this
ordinance are declared to be severable.
Section 3
A public hearing on this ordinance
