AN ORDINANCE DELETING LICENSING REQUIREMENTS
FOR ELECTRICAL LICENSES AND PROVIDING THAT
ALL MASTER ELECTRICIANS, jOURNEYMAN ELECTRICIANS,
RESIDENTIAL WIREMEN, APPRENTICES AND TRAINEES
SHALL NOLD VALID STATE LICENSES AND FURTHER
REQUIRING REGISTRATION OF ELECTRICAL CONTRACTORS
WHEREAS, the city council desires to make certain
changes in Chapter 7 of the Aspen Municipal code and such changeS
are for the benefit of the City of Aspen,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY cOUNCIL
OF THE cITY OF ASPEN, COLORADO: Section 1
That Section 7-79(a) of the Municipal code of the City
of Aspen, colorado, is hereby repealed and reenacted to read as
follows:

(a) No person may be issued a license to engage in the
following listed trades, jobs, or contractural service
as herein enumerated unless approved by the board of
examinerS
and appeals:
(1) Builder'S license, class A
(2) Builder's license, class B
(3) Builder's license, class C
(4) Plumber's license, class A - Master
(5) Plumber's license, class B - Master
(6) Plumber's license, class C - Journeyman
(7) Steam heating license, class A
(8) Steam heating license, class B
(9) Domestic appliance license
10) Gas fitter'S license
11) Masonry license
12) Concrete and form license
13) Warm air heating and ventilating license
's license
14) House and building mover
15) Wrecker'S license
16) Excavating license
17) Special contractor's license

Section 2
That Section 7-83 of the Municipal code of the City
of Aspen, colorado, is hereby deleted. Section 3
That Section 7-104(a) of the Municipal code of the city
of Aspen, colorado, is hereby repealed and reenacted to read as
follows:
Sec. 7-104. Annual Fees.
(a) The annual license fees applicable to the licenses
required and enumerated in this division shall be in
accordance with the following table:

Section 3
~hat Division 3, Sections 7-107 and 108 be adopted as
part of the Municipal code of the City of Aspen, Chapter 7
reading as follows:
DIVISION 3. ELECTRICIANS
Sec. 7-107. State Licenses Requiredu
All master electricians, journeyman electricians,
residential wiremen, apprentices and trainees must
hold valid state licenses before engaging in any

trade, job, or contractual service within the city
limits.
Sec. 7-108. R_~_~istration of Electrical Contractors_~.
As a condition of performing services within the City,
electrical contractors shall register themselves with
the Board of Examiners and Appeals. ApplicantS for
registration must demonstrate that they hold a valid
electrical contractor's license issued by the state,
pay a registration fee of $10.00 to cover the cost of
processing the registration. Registrations made under
this section shall terminate on the last day of the

fiscal year.
Section 4
If any provision of this ordinance or the application
thereof to any person or circumstance is held invalid, such
invalidity shall not affect other provisions or applications of
the ordinance which can be given effect without the invalid
provision or application, and to this end the provisions of this
ordinance are declared to be severable.
Section 5
A public hearing on the ordinance shall be held on
