ORDINANCE NO. 30
(Series of 1978)
AN ORDINANCE DESIGNATING AS AN HISTORIC
STRUCTURE AND SITE. THE LOCATION OF THE
EAGLE'S BUILDING CONSISTING OF THE
NORTHERLY 32 FEET OF LOTS K AND L AND
THE NORTHERLY 30 FEET OF LOT M IN
BLOCK 95, ORIGINAL ASPEN TOWNSITE
WHEREAS, subsequent to receiving affirmative
recommendations from the Aspen Historic Preservation Committee,
the City Council has determined that the designation of the
ilagle's Building as an historic site is appropriate.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF ASPEN, COLORADO:
Section 1
That the following described area and structures thereon
are hereby designated as an H, Historic Overlay District,
pursuant to the provisions of Article 9 of Chapter 24 of the
Aspen Municipal Code,
The northerly 32 feet of Lots K and L
and the northerly 30 feet of Lot M in
Block 95, Original Aspen Townsite, Pitkin
County, Colorado.
Section 2
If any provision of this ordinance or the application
thereof to any person or circumstance is held invalid, such
invalidity shall not affect other provisions or applications of
the ordinance whcih can be given effect without the invalid
provision or application, and to this end the provisions of this
ordinance are declared to be severable.
Section 3
Uhat a public hearing be conducted before the City
Council on _~,~~P~-~ , 1978, at 5:00 P.M.
in the City Council Chambers, City Hall, Aspen, Colorado,

fifteen days prior to which hearing public notice of the same
shall be published once in a newspaper of general circulation
within the City.
INTRODUCED, READ AND ORDERED published as provided by
law by the City Council of the City of Aspen, colorado, at
its regular meeting held at the City of Aspen on the ~
