HomeMy WebLinkAboutordinance.council.047-80RECORD OF PROCEEDINGS 100 Leaves ORDINANCE NO. ~-~'~--- (Series of 1980) AN ORDINANCE RATIFYING AN AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF ASPEN AND THE COLORADO STATE DEPARTMENT OF HIGHER EDUCATION PROVIDING FOR THE GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR THE EXPENDITURE OF GRANT FUNDS IN REPLACING THE ROOF ON THE ASPEN CITY HALL AND MAKING A SUPPLEMENTAL APPROPRIATION IN THE AMOUNT OF $20,606 FROM THE CURRENT YEAR UNAPPROPRIATED SALES TAX REVENUES, RECOGNIZING AN $18,324 CONTRIBUTION AND APPROPRIATING $38.930 IN LAND/OPEN SPACE FUND EXPENDITURES WHEREAS, there has been submitted to the City Council a pro- posed agreement between the City of Aspen and the Colorado State Department of Higher Education providing for the general terms and conditions for the expenditure of grant funds in replacing the roof on the Aspen City Hall; and that year WHEREAS, Section 9.13(b) of the Home Rule Charter requires all contracts requiring payments beyond the end of the fiscal be approved by ordinance; and WHEREAS, the City Manager has certified that there are avail- able for appropriation revenues in excess of those estimated in the budget; and WHEREAS, the City Manager has certified that the City has recognized an unanticipated, additional $18,324 in revenues in the form of a grant from the State of Colorado Department of Higher Education and $20,606 from unanticipated, additional 6th penny sales taxes; and WHEREAS, the City Council is advised that certain revenues and expenditures must be recognized and approved by ordinance.
