HomeMy WebLinkAboutordinance.council.061-80RECORD OF PROCEEDINGS (Series of 1980) AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS 7-95, 7-104, 12-34, 12-35, AND 21-58 OF THE ASPEN MUNICIPAL CODE BY AMENDING THE ANNUAL LICENSE AND LICENSE APPLICATION FEES REQUIRED; AND FURTHER BY ELIMINATING THE CREDIT FOR LICENSE FEES PAID UNDER OTHER STATE OR LOCAL LAW WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Aspen wishes to amend Sections 7-95, 7-104, 12-34, 12-35, and 21-58 of the Municipal Code for the benefit of the City of Aspen, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ASPEN, COLORADO: Section 1 That Section 7-95 be repealed and reenacted to read as follows: Application Fee Applications for licenses required by this division shall be accompanied by a fee of twenty dollars ($20.00) to cover costs of processing. Section 2 That Section 7-104 be repealed and reenacted to read as follows: Annual Fees (a) The annual license fees applicable to the licenses required and enumerated in this division shall be in accordance with the following table: First Year (1) Builders License Class A $300 (2) Builders License Class B 160 (3) Builders License Class C i00 (4) Plumbers Lic. Class A (master) 200 (5) Plumbers Lic. Class B (master) 160 (6) Plumbers Lic. Class C (journeyman) 2 (7) Heating License Class A 110 (8) Heating License Class B 80 (9) Appliance License 100 (i0) Gas Fitters License 80 (11) Masonry License 100 (12) Concrete & Form License 100 (13) Warm Air Heat & Vent License 80 Second & Consecutive Year $2OO 8O 5O 100 8O 2 6O 5O 5O 5O 5O 5O 5O RECORD OF PROCEEDINGS (14) House & Bldg. Movers License 80 50 (15) Wreckers License 80 50 (16) Excavating License 100 50 (17) Special Contractor's Lic. 80 50 (b) The holder of one license shall be charged one-half ~f the license fee for each additional license required by him under this division. The annual fee shall be in addition to the application fee prescribed by Section 7-95. Section 3 That Section 12-34 be repealed and reenacted to read as follows: Fee Expiration The license fee for the license required by this article shall be the sum of fifty dollars ($50.00) annually, which license fee shall be paid to the director of finance on or before February 1st of each and every year. The license required by this article is for the privilege of pursuing the business, profession, vocation or occupation until the next succeeding December 31st, at the end of the calendar year. Section 4 That Section 12-35 be repealed and deleted from the Aspen Municipal Code. Section 5 That Section 21-58 be repealed and reenacted to read as follows: Fee For each license issued, under the provisions of this division, a fee of four dollars ($4.00) shall be paid, which fee shall accompany the application together with an additional one dollar ($I.00) for filing fee. A further fee of four dollars ($4.00) shall be paid for each year or fraction thereof for which said license is renewed, together with an additional fee of one ($1.00) for filing fee. Only one-half of the four dollar ($4.00) fee shall be charged on licenses issued after July first of any year. Section 6 That the afore-mentioned amendments in Section 1 and 2 are effective as of 1/1/81 and are applicable to all such licenses issued for calendar years beginning on or after 1/1/81. That the afore-mentioned amendments in Sections 3,4, and 5 are effective as of 1/1/81 and are applicable to all such license applications received by the City of Aspen after 1/1/81. RECORD OF PROCEEDINGS 100 Leaves Section 7 If any provision of this ordinance or the application thereof to any person or circumstance is held invalid, such invalidity shall not affect other provisions or application of the ordinance which can be given without the invalid provisions or application, and to this end the provisions of this ordinance are declared to be severable. Section 8 That a public hearing be held on this ordinance on , 1980, at 5:00 P.M. in the City Council Chambers, Aspen City Hall, Aspen, Colorado, 15 days prior to which hearing notice of the same shall be published once in a newspaper of general circulation within the City of Aspen.
