HomeMy WebLinkAboutordinance.council.030-74RECORD OF PROCEEDINGS 100 Leaves ORDINANCE NO. ,_'~ (Series of 1974) AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 12-33 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE PERTAINING TO BUSINESS LICENSE APPLICATIONS WHICH AMENDMENT REMOVES THE REQUIREMENT THAT ALL APPLICANTS INCLUDE AN AFFIDAVIT SIGNED BY THE APPLICANT AS A CONDITION OF ACCEPTANCE WHEREAS, the present provisions of the Municipal code require that when applying for a business license the applicant swear to the truth of the information supplied, and WHEREAS, the City Council, on the advice of the Director of Finance, agrees that such affidavit require- ments are without effect in practice and supply no need to warrant the inconvenience to applicants and wish, therefore, to delete the same, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ASPEN, COLORADO: Section 1. That section 12-33 of the Municipal code of the City of Aspen, colorado, is hereby amended to read as follows: "Sec. 12-33. Application. Every person required to procure a license under the provisions of this code or any other ordinance or law of the city shall submit an application for such license to the city license officer. The application shall: (1) Be a written statement upon such forms provided by the city license officer. Such form shall ~e~e-a~-a~av~k BE signed by the applicant stating the RECORD OF PROCEEDINGS 100 Leaves name of the applicant, name of the business, owner or owners of the business, address of the business, number of em- ployees and nature of the business. (2) Require the disclosure of all additional information necessary to compliance with this article and of any other information which the city license officer shall find to be reasonably necessary to the fair administration of this article. (3) Be accompanied by the full amount of the fee chargeable for such license." Section 2. If any provision of this ordinance or the application thereof to any person or circumstance is held invalid, such invalidity shall not affect other provisions or applications of the ordinance which can be given effect without the invalid provisions or applications and to this end the provisions or applications of this ordinance are declared to be severable. Section 3. A public hearing on this ordinance shall be held on the /~. day of ~l- , the City Council Chambers, City Hall, Aspen, Colorado.
