HomeMy WebLinkAboutordinance.council.040-74RECORD OF PROCEEDINGS 100 Leaves 0REi ANcE (Series of 1974) AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 4-20 OF THE ASPEN MUNICIPAL CODE WHICH AMENDMENT INCREASES THE OCCUPATION TAX IMPOSED UPON LIQUOR LICENSES AS FOLLOWS: CLASS "A" $500.00; CLASS "D" $400.00; CLASS "C" $300.00; CLASS "D" $300.00; CLASS "E" $200.00; CLASS "F-l" $100.00; AND CLASS "F-2" $50.00. ?~EREAS, at the request of the Office of the City Clerk there have been proposed increases to the occupational tax levied and assessed upon the business of selling 3.2% beer, malt, vinous, or spirituous liquors, and WHEREAS, it is the opinion of the City Council that such increases are appropriate as reflecting the costs to the public of policing and otherwise adequately regulating the businesses thereby permitted, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ASPEN, COLORADO: Section 1 That section 4-20 of the Municipal Code of the City of Aspen, Colorado, is hereby amended to read as follows: "Section 4-20 Amount Prescribed. There is hereby levied and assessed an annual occupation tax upon the business of selling 3.2% beer, malt, vinous or spirituous liquors, except medicinial liquors in the City, as such occupation has been classified in section 4-2 as follows: (1) For all Class "A" operators the sum of $500.00 RECORD OF PROCEEDINGS 100 Leaves (2) For all the sum (3) For all the sum (4) For all the sum (5) For all the sum (6) For all the sum (7) For all the sum Section 2 Class "B" operators of Class "C" operators of $400.00 Class "D" operators of 300.00 Class "E" operators of 300.00 Class "F-i" operators of 200.00 Class "F-2" operators of 100.00 If any provision of 50.00" this ordinance or the application thereof to any person or circumstance is held invalid, such invalidity shall not affect other provisions or applications of the ordinance which can be given effect without the invalid provisions or applications and to this end the provisions or applications of this ordinance are declared to be severable.
