AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE ANNEXATION TO THE CITY OF ASPEN,
COLORADO OF THAT CERTAIN TERRITORY OR REAL ESTATE PARTICULARLY
DESCRIBED IN THIS ORDINANCE, LYING OUTSIDE OF, BUT ADJACENT TO
THE CITY OF ASPEN, COLORADO:
WHEREAS, a Petition for the annexation was filed
with the City Clerk of the City of Aspen on May 13, 1971
requesting the annexation of the territory hereinafter de-
scribed, which Petition meets all of the requirements of the
applicable section of the "Colorado Municipal Annexation Act
of 1965" and,
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Aspen
passed and adopted a Resolution on _
accepting said Petition for annexation, and resolving that
said property be annexed by ordinance; and
WHEREAS, the Petition for annexation of this terri-
tory or real estate, described in this ordinance, has been
signed by the owners of 100% of the property proposed to be
annexed, exclusive of streets and alleys, and said Petition
has been filed with the City Clerk; and,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF ASPEN, COLORADO:

A parcel of land located in Section 7, Township 10
South, Range 84 West of the 6th Principal Meridian,
also being a part of Lots 2, 3, 4 and 5, Block 5 and
part of Lots 4, 5 and 6, Block 6, Hughes Addition and
a part of Queen Street, Pitkin County, Colorado,
being more particularly described as follows:

Beginning at a point on the Southerly line of King
Street, said point hying South 18°33' East 385.26
feet from corner No. 11, Tract 40, East Aspen
Addition; thence South 24°30' West 142.63 feet;
thence South 38°26' West 76.76 feet; thence North
73°29' West 158.70 feet; thence South 13°46' West
34.65 feet; thence North 43°43' West 119.73 feet;
thence North 22°54' East 68.03 feet; thence North
63°18'30'' East 83.92 feet; thence North 66°21'
West 42.12 feet; thence North 34°45' East 93.75
feet to the Southerly line of King Street; thence
South 66°21' East 255.32 feet along the Southerly
line of King Street to the point of beginning,
which land is situated in the County of Pitkin, State of
Colorado, and adjoining and touching the boundary line of the
City of Aspen and situated that not less than 1/6th of the
aggregate external boundaries of said tract of land coincide
with the existing boundaries of the City of Aspen, Colorado
be hereby added to, annexed, taken into and made a part of
the City of Aspen, Colorado.
Section 2: That the annexation map and certified
copies of the original annexing ordinance be filed with the
Office of the Clerk of the City of Aspen, and with the Office
of the Secretary of State and with the Clerk and Recorder of
Pitkin County, pursuant to the requirements set forth under
Section 12 of said Act.
