HomeMy WebLinkAboutordinance.council.012-54 ORDINANCE NO. 12 Series of 1954 AN ORDINANCE MAKING ANNUAL APPROPRIATION OF MONIES AND FUNDS TO COVER EXPENDITURES TO BE MADE BY THE CITY OF ASPEN, COLORADO, AS PROVIDED BY ITS BUDGET FOR THE FISCAL YEAR COMMENCING JANUARY 1, 1955, AND ENDING DECEMBER 31, 1955. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF TFiE CITY OF ASPEN, COLORADO: Section 1. That this Ordinance shall be known and termed as the Annual Appropriation Bill of the City of Aspen, Colorado, for the fiscal year beginning on the 1st day of January, 1955, and ending on the 31st day of December, 1955. Section 2. That the sums or amounts of money hereinafter set out are termed to be necessary to defray the expenses and liabilities of said City during said fiscal year. That the revenue to be collected by said City during said fiscal year is hereby appropriated to defray all necessary expenses and liabilities of said City and that said appropria- tion purposes and the respective amounts are as follows: General Fund - Mayor's and Aldermen's salaries $ 1,140.00 Clerk's salary and expenses 1,400.00 Treasurer's fees and expenses 1,000.00 Marshalls' salaries 7,000.00 Streets and Alleys 28, 000.00 City Park Fund 1,000.00 City Fire Department 1,000.00 City Building Fund 6,000.00 Contingent 3,648.83 Attorney fees and expenses 3,000.00 Advertising 2,000.00 Bond and Interest 5, 000.00 TOTAL $60, 188.83 Section 3. ~et at $60,188.83. Section 4. That the Budget for the City of Aspen, Colorado is That all unexpended balances remaining to the credit of any appropriation herein made after all bills and accounts have been paid shall revert to and be transferred to the respective fund from which such appropriation was originally drawn. [5 (Series of 1954) AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 5, SERIES OF 1949 CONCERNING REVENUE AND RELATING TO THE SALE OF MALT, VINOUS, AND SPIRITUC gS LIQUORS, AND IMPOSING AN OCCUPATIONAL TAX UPON THOSE ENGAGED IN THE SALE OF THESE COMMODITIES AT RETAIL AND TO SECURE A PROPER DISTRIBUTION OF THE BURDEN OF TAXATION. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ASPEN, COLORADO: Seclion 1. AMENDMENT; Section 5, Ordinance No. 5, Series of 1949, is hereby amended to read as follows, to-wit: Such tax shall be due and payable to the Treasurer of the City of Aspen at lhe time the city license shall be issued and said license shall not be issued until said tax is paid in full. Section 2. EMERGENCY; The City Council hereby finds and determines that this ordinance is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health and safety of the inhabitants of the City of Aspen.
