Mayor Pro~tem Behrendt announced the only item on the agenda was the water plant annexation number two. Councilman Van Ness moved to authorize the Mayor Pro Tem to sign the Petition for Annexa- tion; seconded by Councilman Isaac. All in favor, motion carried. Councilman Isaac moved to read Ordinance #49, Series of 1979; seconded by Councilwoman Michael. All in favor, motion carried. ORDINANCE #49 Ord. 49, 1979 Water Plant (Series of 1979) Annexation#2 AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING CERTAIN UNINCORPORATED TERRITORY TO THE CITY OF ASPEN, COLORADO, AND DECLARING THAT AN EMERGENCY EXISTS REQUIRING IMMEDIATE ENACTMENT was read by the city clerk Jim Reents, housing director, told Council at their last regular meeting they annexed a one foot strip into the property. This annexation includes less than half of the site; there ~will be 3 annexations to encompass the whole water plant property. Councilman Collins noted that the Petition signed by the Mayor has the County's assent and questione this. Mayor Pro Tem Behrendt said that land cannot be divided without the permission of the government in charge. Councilman Isaac moved to adopt Ordinance #49, Series of 1979; seconded by Councilwoman Michael. Roll call vote; Councilmembers Isaac, aye; Parry, aye; Collins, aye; Michael, aye; Van Ness, aye; Mayor Pro Tem Behrendt, aye. Motion carried. Councilwoman Michael moved to continue the meeting until August 2, at noon; seconded by Councilman Isaac. Councilman Parry moved to read Ordinance #49, Series of 1979; seconded by Councilwoman Michael. All in favor, motion carried. Councilman Parry moved to continue to meeting until 9 a.m. Friday, August 3; seconded by Councilwoman Michael. Council left Chambers at 12:10 p.m. Kathryn S~Koch, City Clerk Continued Meeting Aspen City Council August 3, 1979 Councilman Isaac called the continued meeting to order at 9 a.m. City Attorney Stock explained this was the third and final annexation for the water plant property. Councilman Parry moved to authorize the Mayor to sign the Petition for Annexation; Water Plant seconded by Councilwoman Michael. All in favor, motion carried. Annexation #3 Councilman Collins asked if this was for the rest of the city's ownership at the water plant. Stock answered this was for the total of 63 acres. Councilman Parry moved to read Ordinance #51, Series of 1979; seconded by Councilwoman Michael. All in favor, motion carried. Stock noted the only difference between this and the previous ordinance is the legal description. Councilman Collins moved to adopt Ordinance #51, Series of 1979, on first reading; seconded by Councilwoman Michael. Roll call vote; Councilmembers Collins, aye; Parry, aye; Michael, aye; Isaac, aye. Motion carried. Councilwoman Michael moved to continue the meeting to noon,~\August 7; seconded by Councilman Collins. Council left at 9:13 a.m. Kat~r~ S.
