The Special~ Meeting was called to order at 12:15 p.m. on June 22, 1977. Councilmembers
Nina Johnston, Marty Hershey, John Van Ness, George Parry, Michael Berendt and Mayor
Stacy Standley were present. City Manager Mick Mahoney was also present.
Councilman Parry moved to let the Community School use the Rio Grande property from Community
June 24 thru June 26 for the carnival. The only requirement is a standard insurance School use
indemnification to the city. Berendt seconded the motion. All in favor; motion passed, of Rio Gran~
A discussion of opening the park by Wednesday, June 29th followed. It was decided that
the 60 day requirement would not be up until July 3rd and that the Council could not
act until Monday, June 27, which would not leave enough time.
This section of the Special Meeting was adjourned at 12:30 p.m. Councilwoman Johnston
moved to adjourn, seconded by Councilman Van Ness. All in favor; motion passed.
