The roll was called and Mayor Garfish, Councilmen James, Anderson and Braun, and City Administrator Wurl were present Councilman Beyer on vacation. From Public Service Co. were D. J. Miller Vice President, R. D. Speer, Director of Rates, G.W. Craig, Ass't Mgr, Divison Operation, C. E. Beatty, Division Manager of Grand Junction, R. E. Craig and J. H. Walker, and Bryant O'Donnell. Mr. B~atty referred to Council action re Rocky Mountain and asked where Public Service now stood. Discussion followed covering long standing and reputation of Public Service Co. and why they feel they can give good service to Aspen. Also discussed - position in Glenwood Springs. On May 4th their Council can call for an election or read Public Service franchise. If P~ should approve, Western Slope can start building pipeline at once, as decision of Glenwood has no bearing on this. Mr. Beatty requested that the Public Service franchise be read at the next regular meeting of Council, so that in any event, they will be ready to go ahead if PUC grants them Certificate of Necessity. The Clerk was instructed to request financial statement f~m first quarter of 1961 from Rocky Mountain Natural Gas. Co.
