The meeting was called to order at 7:30 PM by Mayor Garfish with Councilmen
Newell, Moore and Beyer, City Administrator Humphrey amd City Attorney Stewart present. Lions'
Don Snyder and Ken Isakson were present in the interest of a recreational program Club
for the summer. They informed Council that the intention is to hire a qualified
man on a trial basis ~or three months ; that the Lions' Club would contribute from Little ~
$900 to $1000, and in addition there would be the amount promised to the Little League ~
Lea~'eBaseball team by different organizations. Baseball
As they are not set up hire anyone, they asked if the City could hire him, and Proposal for
pay the salary, the amount of which would be guaranteed to the City by these organiza-
tions. Attorney Stewart said there is nothing in the City's rules to prohibit this, Recreational
and he suggested that there be a contract drawn up between the City and the Lions' Director.
Club, and that the man hired understands the arrangement. Snyder and Isakson will
work with Attorney Stewart on contract to be presented for Council approval. A motion
was made by Newell, seconded by Beyer, to accept the proposal of the Recz~stional Com-
mittee as presented at this meeting, subject to a~reemenr. Carried.
