Motion carried unanimously. A motion was made by Moore, seconded by Beyer to adopt the following Resolution that the City of Aspen will provide $5000.00 if the grant is accepted by the City. Motion carried unanimously. RESOLUTION ', WHEREAS, the N,~tional Housing Act of 1954, as amended, authorizes grants of Federal Funds to official State Planning Agencies to aid them in providing" planning assistance to municipalities, polulation of less than 50,000 according to the 196Q U. S. ', Census; WHEREAS, 'the ColO'rr_a'd0 State Planning Division is the official planning agency ;". '~: for the State of Colorado, and, as such, is qualified to receive Grants of Federal funds under the provisions of the National Housing Act of 1954, as amended; WHEREAS, under the provisions of the said National Housing Act of 1954, the ', said Colorado State Planning Division may apply to the Dederal Government for two- 'i thirds (2/3) of the cost of each planning project; and WHEREAS, the Colorado Revised Statutes 1954, as amended, require that the municipalities formally request the services of the Colorado State Planning Division as heretofore described; and WHEREAS, the funds are.. necessary to defray the expenses of said planning pro- ject and must be deposited., on request, with the said Colorado State Planning Division or such other State Department as directed by the State Planning Division, and adminis- tered by; ~ NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE City Council of the municipality of Aspen, Colorado, in regular session convened that the Colorado State Planning Division is here- !, by requested to provide this municipality with planning assistance comprising such studies, surveys, technical services and other planning~work(excluding plans for specific public works) as the said Division determines desirable under the existing circumstances. ~ IT IS HEREBY FURTHER RESOLVED that the said municipality hereby agrees to pledge and contribute from its current appropriated funds for 1962 and from funds to be appropriated in 1963 the sum of Five Thousand Dollars ($5,000.00), which sum is one- ', ninth ( 1/9) of the total cost of the planning assistance to be furnished, and to deposit with the Treasurer of the State of Colorado such portions thereof as may be~requested during the progress of the work, providing participating organizations agree to deposit similar amounts as maq be required. Discussed - corrected Zoning map prepared by Fritz Benedict's office, and a motion was made by Beyer, seconded by Moore, to accept the Zoning map, and to suspend Rule 19 and pay the amount of $306.74. Motion carried unanimously. Discussed - that there should be more realistic budget set up for Planning and Zoning Commission for 1963. - phone calls to Mr. Wiener - all expenses should clear through one of- fice, and be .charged equally to the City, the County and the Aspen Institute.
