HomeMy WebLinkAboutminutes.council.19640323 Aspen Colorado Special Meeting Aspen~City Council March 23~ 1964 Mayor Pabst opened the special meeting at 3:30 P.M.. Present were Councilmen Bernard McEachern and Kuster and °lty dmlnlstrator Kerrigan, and Councilman Stapleton arrived later. Mayor Pabst read letter of resignation submitted by City Clerk, Mrs. Hoffmann, Resignation and said official action would be postponed until the re~lar meeting of April 6, City'Cierk 1964, but he felt it is the concensus of the Council to accept it. The Mayor also read letter from an English girl who would like to correspond with an Aspen boy or girl - given to George Madsen for Aspen Ti~s. Mayor Pabst said he had talked with Secreta~ of State Mr. Anderson, and the Mollie Gibson State is giving serious consideration to carrying the Mollie Gibson suspension of Liq. Lic. liquor license case further. He said the purpose of pursuing this matter would be suspension to clarify Council stand on future matters. ~Discussed - Mollie Gibson establishment may be sold. What action to take in the future. Appeal would be expensive. Council agreed that it would be advisable to wait and see what the State Liquor Commission will do. Marvin Moriarty request for water tap on Smuggler Trailer Court water line Moriarty- discussed. Mr. Kerrigmm ia working on this and other areas outside the City limits, req. for water deed Luke Anthony said he would be willing t~l-1/2 feet of water from the Durant Mine to the dity if he could be served water at within City rates. Discussed - present tank and installation and possibility of installing another tank, and Mr. Kerrigan is working on this with Dale Rea. Annexation petltian - Block 19 - Mrs. Dorothy Shaw - Mayor Pabst read letter Bi. 19 from Jack Walls, Chairman of the Planni~ Commission, recommendi~ annexation to Mrs Shaw straighten bomndaries. - Gramiger- Hans Gr~iger said he is in conflict with the area to be annexed and enters opposing appearance as opposing the annexation, annexation. Discussed - that Planning Commission had not recommended on petition to annex portion of street- submitted by County Commissioners. Also whether advisab~ to annex portion of the block lying in the County. Councilman McEachern will take this up at the next meeting of the Planning omm~sslon, and it ~11 be considered at the Council meeting of April 6,196~. The meeting was adjourned upon motion by Councilman Bernard, Seconded by Councilman Kuster, and carried, at 4:25PM
