AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING A NEW
RATE SCHEDULE FOR RETAIL ELECTRICAL SERVICE
WHEREAS, the City Council has recently enacted certain
notice and hearing requirements for setting rates for
electrical service along with a retail rate policy based on
its wholesale electrical purchase contract with the Municipal
Energy Agency of Nebraska (MEAN), on the Ruedi Reservoir
Hydroelectric Power Project (Ruedi Project), and on other
power supplies; and
WHEREAS, Section 23-18 of the Municipal Code of the city
of Aspen provides that the rates for electrical service shall
be set forth in the most recent schedule approved by City
Council; and
WHEREAS, the City council now desires to enact a sche-
dule of rates for retail electrical service pursuant to said
Section 23-18, notice and hearing requirements, and
MEAN/Ruedi rate policy.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ASPEN, COLORADO
Section 1
A. The Purchased Power Subrate shall be:
$.0372351/kWh
B. The Commercial Customer City Facility Subrate shall
be:
$.0319290/kWh
C. The Residential Customer City Facility Subrate
shall be:
$.0264200/kWh
D. The Monthly Customer Service Charge for all retail
customers shall be~ $5.00/customer
E. Ail of the above rates shall be effective: April
15, 1985.
F. The 1st billing under the above rates shall be made
on or about: May 30, 1985.
Section 2
If any provision of this ordinance or the application
thereof to any person or circumstance is held invalid or
unconstitutional by a court of competent jurisdiction, such
invalidity shall not affect the other provisions or applica-
tions of the ordinance which can be given effect without the

invalid provision or application, and to this end the provi-
sions of this ordinance are severable.
Section 3
ne schedule of rates under Section 1 hereof shall be
published on or about March 13, 1985 and a public hearing
thereon shall be held on ~ril 22, 1985 at 5:00 p.m. in the
City Council ~ambers, Aspen City Hall, Aspen, Colorado.

its regular meeting held on March 11, 1985.
